Tabitha, a devoted Christian noted for her acts of charity, dies. As her body is prepared for burial, Peter is sent for—in hopes for a miracle. In Acts, Christ’s life is reenacted in the life of the disciples, so just as Jesus raised a synagogue leader’s daughter, now Peter raises Tabitha from the dead.
