Because of Jesus’ fame after healing the sick, large crowds followed him, so Jesus asked his disciples to feed them. They could not do so, because they did not have the funds. Another disciple, Andrew, brought a boy to Jesus who had five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus blessed these items and distributed them. Later, he asked for the leftovers to be gathered back, resulting in twelve baskets. When Jesus realized that people wanted to make him king by force, he retreated alone to the mountain. The disciples got on a boat without him, a storm followed, and Jesus appeared to them—walking on water.
